Overview
Crafting is used for creating a large variety of items, including the production of custom ammunition with the Repair skill, custom weapons with the Science skill, and the creation of food and medicinal items with the Survival skill.
Workbench
Along with the crafting of weapons, Workbenches also enable the creation of health items, Weapon Repair Kits, the recycling of residual expended flame and energy ammunition into fresh ammunition, and the conversion of energy ammunition into other types of energy ammunition, and their variants. Workbenches are joined by Reloading Benches and Campfires, with each offering different crafting options.
Reloading Bench
The Reloading Bench's primary purpose is to convert different forms of ammunition to others, making otherwise useless ammunition immediately valuable. However, these conversions do not share the same casings or hulls needed. They share only Lead, powder, and primer, so these are not a straight conversion.
Campfire
Campfires in the Mojave Wasteland are used to cook raw meats and to create a wide variety of medicines, chems, and poisons. Campfires are scattered around the wasteland and will usually be found surrounded by some form of benches or makeshift bedding. Around the campfire, one may find pots, pans, and other various cooking utensils. Campfires may be found lit or unlit, but they still all function the same way.
Electric Hot Plates
Like Campfires, Electric Hot Plates are used to cook food and make chems and other craftable items. Electric Hot Plates are mostly found inside intact buildings in the Sierra Madre, but can also be found in various locations throughout Big MT. They usually have a few ingredients for recipes scattered around them.
Electric Hot Plates craft the same items Campfires can craft.
Sierra Madre Vending Machine
Sierra Madre Vending Machines are pre-War devices developed at the Big MT, which dispense and redeem numerous items in exchange for Sierra Madre Chips. They can be found throughout the Sierra Madre, and one is found in Elijah's quarters in the Abandoned Brotherhood of Steel Bunker.
