Astor's Recon Camp is an unmarked location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.[Pub 1]
Background
The camp overlooks the ruins of Camp Searchlight, which has been destroyed by Caesar's Legion by way of releasing radiation from nuclear waste stored in the fire station.[1][2] The New California Republic soldiers stationed here were either turned into feral ghouls or killed, with the exception of First Sergeant Astor and a group of NCR Troopers, who were out on patrol when the attack took place.[3]
The remaining survivors join him at the recon camp to the northeast, patrolling the area in an effort to warn travelers before they get too close to the dangerous area.[4][5][6]
Layout
A tent with bedrolls is located in front of a campfire. A picnic table with First Sergeant Astor's log is found nearby. Astor will patrol the perimeter of the camp with three troopers, while another three remain at the camp. An NCR flag marks the entrance to the camp and several radiation signs are posted at the edge of town along the roadways.
