Look at that! You haven't run off yet! Here for more work, or you got questions?

Rodolfo "Rudy" Fernandez is a client of the Blue Ridge Caravan Company at Big Bend Tunnel.

Background

Formerly a self-appointed "Director of Morale Enhancement," Rudy worked at his family's cannery and bakery, similar to Mama Dolce's Food Processing, near Appalachia, telling jokes to the workers as the resident comedian. However, his brothers wanted him to leave, forcing Rudy to take a job as a client of the Blue Ridge Caravan Company, selling pepperoni rolls, telling jokes, and making deliveries.[1]

Appearances

Rudy Fernandez appears in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.

Behind the scenes

  • Developer Carl McKevitt stated that F. Fernandez is Rudy's older brother.[Dev 1]
  • McKevitt was also responsible for adding the line "Rudy has wares, if you have caps," and referred to it as one of his more shameful lines.[Dev 2] The line is a reference to the similar line "Khajiit has wares, if you have coin," spoken by the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

References

  1. Vault Dweller: "Where are you from?"
Rudy Fernandez: "My family runs a cannery and bakery a few days from here. Like Mama Dolce's up near Morgantown. Less killer communist robots, though. Anyways, my brothers run the place. For a while I was the resident comedian. Ya know, tellin' jokes to guys working the machines. I called myself 'Director of Morale Enhancement.' But, my brothers wanted me to take my act on the road. Now I get to risk my neck running deliveries, tellin' jokes, and selling pepperoni rolls to you fine people."
