Fortune Finder is a perk in Fallout 4.
Effects
Increased chance to find larger amounts of caps in containers.
Ranks
Rank | Requirements | Description | Form ID |
---|---|---|---|
1 | LCK 1 | You've learned to discover the Wasteland's hidden wealth, and find more bottle caps in containers. | 0004C942 |
2 | LCK 1, LVL 5 | You find even more bottle caps in containers. | 001ACF98 |
3 | LCK 1, LVL 25 | You find even more bottle caps in containers. | 001ACF99 |
4 | LCK 1, LVL 40 | You find even more bottle caps in containers, and there is a chance of enemies exploding into a shower of caps when you kill them. | 00215CD4 |
Each rank of the perk allows for additional caps to be found in containers. Smaller amounts are added to containers such as cabinets, file cabinets, desks, suitcases, or Trash Cans. Larger amounts are added to all variants of safes, duffle bags, steamer and industrial trunks.
The fourth rank grants a 7% chance for killed enemies to explode into caps. Whenever the effect is triggered, an animated Vault Boy is displayed on the screen, along with an audio clue. The amount of caps dispersed around the remains of an enemy is about 15 to 30. Any cap can be interacted with in order to collect them all for a particular enemy.
Notes
- This perk works well alongside the Scrounger perk.
- The sound playing when an enemy explodes into caps is that of a detonating Bottlecap Mine.
- Enemies killed by the Mysterious Stranger perk can also activate the explosion.
- It may be difficult to spot the caps at times, depending on the number of enemies fought and the terrain.
- Multiple enemies exploding into caps at the same time or in rapid succession may have a negative impact on the game's framerate.
