Hahaha! Bow, peasant! Bow before the Ant Queen!

The AntAgonizer is a "supervillain" located in the town of Canterbury Commons in Fallout 3. She also appears as a hero in Fallout Shelter Online.

Background

The AntAgonizer was born as Tanya Christoff,[1][Pub 1] she possesses control over giant ants and refers to herself as "Queen of All Ants."[2] Christoff took the inspiration for her character from a Grognak comic,[3][4] which also helped her to understand her origins.[5] She has experienced mistreatment by other people in the past,[6] which led to her belief that humanity is doomed and her preference of ants.[7]

She has an ongoing rivalry with the Mechanist, which started when she killed his female robot.[8]

Publications

Born 27 years ago, Tanya’s parents lived as caravan drivers, before they were killed by Ants, an event that made Tanya lose herself in the world of Hubris Comics’s characters and befriend the insects that spared her life. Christoff thinks that Canterbury Commons—a major location in the trading route her parents helped put on the map—is a blight on the Wasteland. Locals used to see Christoff lurking in a sewer system to the north of town, covered in mud and dirt. Giant Ants eventually started hanging around. A few months ago, she disappeared and reappeared as the AntAgonizer and has been harassing the town ever since.Fallout 3 Official Game Guide/Wasteland Census

Notes

  • She can be convinced to hand over her costume and leave, either by passing a Speech check with her, or if the Lone Wanderer is male and has the Lady Killer perk.[5] Using either option results in gaining Karma.
  • She will give her unique knife, the Ant's Sting, as a reward for bringing her the Mechanist's costume.
  • She will attack the Lone Wanderer with a Ripper instead of the Ant's Sting, if they wear the Mechanist's costume.

Appearances

The AntAgonizer appears in Fallout 3, and is mentioned in Grognak & the Ruby Ruins in Fallout 4.

Bugs

PCPC Xbox 360Xbox 360 Sometimes she can glitch and end up standing outside of Megaton, still dressed in her costume but unaccompanied by her ants. This bug can occur if The Superhuman Gambit was completed without visiting her.

  2. AntAgonizer: "So, at last you've penetrated the court of the AntAgonizer, Queen of All Ants! Were you sent by that meddling Mechanist? He'll learn that no one can stand before my royal regiment of fighting ants! Explain yourself! Why shouldn't I have my pretties kill you where you stand?"
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  3. Lone Wanderer: "You got this 'AntAgonizer' idea from a comic, didn't you?"
AntAgonizer: "What? No! No children's book could possibly capture the true depth of the AntAgonizer!"
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  4. Lone Wanderer: "From what I read, Grognak totally kicked her ass!"
AntAgonizer: "Lies! Grognak could never defeat me! He's not even real! Not like the AntAgonizer! I'll have no more of your insolence! Ant royal guards, kill this interloper!"
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  5. 5.0 5.1 Lone Wanderer: "I read that the AntAgonizer was an orphaned girl who could still be redeemed."
AntAgonizer: "You... You really believe that? When I read that comic, it made explained so much. Where I came from, who I was destined to be, what I had to do... But it never said the AntAgonizer could ever have a chance to go back to being normal. It never said I had a chance... Please... I think I've made some terrible mistakes. If you really think I still have a chance, just let me go. I'll give you the suit. No one ever has to see the AntAgonizer again. Just please, let me have another chance."
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  6. Lone Wanderer: "Humanity's made mistakes, but there's still a chance for us. And for you, Tanya."
AntAgonizer: "You're wrong. Humans are cruel, hurtful beasts! They can't be saved... we can't be... I can't... I can't go back. But I can't keep doing this. I can't be as bad as they were. Not if someone like you believes in me. Please... I think I've made some terrible mistakes. If you really think I still have a chance, just let me go. I'll give you the suit. No one ever has to see the AntAgonizer again. Just please, let me have another chance."
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  7. Lone Wanderer: "Your days of terrorizing the town are over. Give up and you won't get hurt."
AntAgonizer: "Ha ha! You would walk here and presume to command me? Humanity's time has come to an end. Your kind died because it knew only petty bickering and wars. But not so, the noble ant! It works with its brethren, knowing only loyalty and duty. And this is why they have grown, while humanity crumbled! Once I've finished with that pathetic Mechanist, I will be free to spread my colonies across the Wastes!"
    (AntAgonizer's dialogue)
  8. Lone Wanderer: "Why did you decide to become the Mechanist?"
Mechanist: "Long ago, I was a mere citizen like yourself. Beyond a talent for computers, I had no power in this world. But then the AntAgonizer attacked, and killed someone very dear to me. The damage was too much for me to fix her. But I knew what I had to do. That tragedy burned away the weakness of my previous life, and in the fires of revenge, the Mechanist was forged!"
    (The Mechanist's dialogue)
