"Shenandoah" is a song broadcast on Appalachia Radio in Fallout 76. It is a traditional American folk song written in the 1800s more commonly known as "Oh Shenandoah."

The version that appears in the game is a digital restoration of Tennessee Ernie Ford's performance of the song on The Ford Show on March 9, 1961, during the show's fifth and final season. It was part of a medley of various nautical-themed tunes for the episode’s theme Songs of the Open Sea.[1]

Lyrics

Oh Shenandoah, I hear you calling,
Hi-o, you rolling river
Oh Shenandoah, I long to hear you,
Hi-o, I'm bound away
'Cross the wide Missouri

Missouri, she's a mighty river,
Hi-o, you rolling river
When she rolls down, her topsails shiver,
Hi-o, I'm bound away,
'Cross the wide Missouri

Farewell my dearest, I'm bound to leave you,
Hi-o, you rolling river
Oh Shenandoah, I'll not deceive you,
Hi-o, I'm bound away
'Cross the wide Missouri.
