Port-A-Diners are claw style vending machines in Fallout 4.

Gameplay

When activated, Port-A-Diners have a small chance of dispensing a Perfectly Preserved Pie. The machine will not attempt to dispense anything else behind the glass. When activating the Port-A-Diner, if the claw immediately drops down it will result in a failed attempt. Only when the machine is activated and the claw slightly adjusts itself above the pie will it result in a successful attempt.

Locations

There are many Port-A-Diners scattered throughout The Commonwealth.

Massachusetts State House	Boston Common		Relatively at the end of the Raiders section.
USS Constitution	Charlestown		In the corner of the boardwalk in front of the USS Constitution.
Fallon's Department Store	West Roxbury		Inside the east entrance.
Mean Pastries	North End		Inside next to a door.
Hub 360	Theater District		On the ground floor.
Malden Middle School	Malden		West of Malden Middle School located on a patio
Fort Strong	The Commonwealth		On a boat with a Nuka-Cola machine seen from Fort Strong to the southeast.
Drumlin Diner	The Commonwealth		On a flatbed truck with a green shipping container opposite the diner.
Medford Memorial Hospital	Malden		On the ground floor, in the cafeteria area.
Mass Bay Medical Center	South Boston		Ground floor kitchen area near the south entrance.
The Dig	Goodneighbor		In the section with the trains, near a fragile wall.
Eden Meadows Cinemas	The Island		In the small diner between the two screens.
Nuka-World Junkyard	Nuka-World		In a large warehouse, next to a fusion generator.
Nuka-Station	Nuka-World		In the southernmost house in the town just south of the Nuka-Station.
Nuka-Town USA	Nuka-World		To the right after exiting the Cola-Cars Arena, before the Nuka-Town Market.

Notes

• When a Port-A-Diner is activated, the game generates a random number between 1 and 1000. If that number is less than or equal to $(2\times Luck+attempts/2)$ the pie will be given. By cumulative probabilities, a player character with Luck 5 has roughly a 50% chance of obtaining the pie within 36 attempts, and roughly the remaining chance of obtaining it between 37-125 attempts.
• The Port-A-Diner at the Nuka-World Junkyard has a 100% chance of giving out a perfectly preserved pie.
• There is also a clean version of the Port-A-Diner, which is unused in the game. It can still be found in the game files.
• Obtaining a perfectly preserved pie from a Port-A-Diner in an owned area, such as the Dugout Inn, will be considered stealing.
• Using the Port-A-Diner in the subway station during The Big Dig, Mel remarks he wouldn't touch the perfectly preserved pie, because he doesn't "trust anything that looks that perfectly preserved after 200 years."

Bugs

PC Playstation 4 Xbox One Sometimes you will not get a pie (Port-A-Diner's container will be empty) even if the mechanical claw successfully took it. This bug is very common in Medford Memorial Hospital.
