Plasma cartridges are a type of ammunition in Fallout 76.
Gameplay
The plasma cartridge is a small container with a transparent tank and a metal case filled with plasma that is used by all varieties of plasma weapons.

Notes
With the Ammosmith perk or Ammo Factory legendary perk, the crafted amount of plasma cartridges increase incrementally, coinciding with the perk's added percentages, crafting more cartridges for the same amount of materials.
