Michelle is a merchant who co-runs the 188 Slop & Shop with her father, Samuel, at the 188 Trading Post in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background
Originally from Primm, Michelle and her father, Samuel Kerr, ran a shop while residing there.[1][2] Due to the prison break at the NCR Correctional Facility, the convicts that followed negatively affected the traffic along I-15, causing it to completely shutdown.[1][3] As a result, the two left Primm around a month prior in search of customers,[2][4] eventually setting up the 188 Trading Post at the point where Highway 93 and Highway 95 intersected.[5][6]
Following the I-15 shutdown, Highway 95 become the primary route for NCR citizens traveling to and from the New Vegas Strip,[3] while Highway 93 was used by NCR troopers traveling between Camp McCarran and Hoover Dam,[3][5] positively affecting their business and providing an influx of customers.[5] At the 188, Michell co-runs the 188 Slop & Shop with her father, taking day shifts while he takes night shifts.[2]

Samuel (Fallout: New Vegas): "Michelle and I ran a little shop in Primm 'till a prison break north of town spoiled it for everyone. Goddamned convicts just about shut down I-15. When traffic dried up, we took to our heels to find us some customers. I'm not one to sit around waiting to get saved, and Michelle ain't, neither."

Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas): "Name's Michelle. My Dad and me run this store. His name's Samuel. I take the day shift and he takes nights. We came here about a month ago, when Primm went to hell on account of the prison break north of there. Found a bin to call home and set up shop."
(Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas)/Dialogue#4) - ↑ 3.0 3.1 3.2 Courier: "Why's business so good here?"
Samuel (Fallout: New Vegas): "When 15 shut down, 95 became the route NCR citizens use to get to the Strip - or limp back home, after the Strip's drained 'em of caps. We get 'em coming and going. Coming, the suckers flush with caps they saved to gamble on the Strip... ...and going, the same folks, but now they're losers who'll trade you the shirt off their backs so they don't starve before they make it back home. Add in the troopers marching back and forth from McCarran and the Dam, and well, let's just say we don't miss Primm."
(Samuel (Fallout: New Vegas)/Dialogue#2) - ↑ Courier: "Who are you?"
Samuel (Fallout: New Vegas): "Samuel Kerr at your service. Me and my daughter Michelle run this fine establishment. We came here from Primm about a month past. Doesn't look like much, but it's one hell of a location."
(Samuel (Fallout: New Vegas)/Dialogue#8) - ↑ 5.0 5.1 5.2 Courier: "Why'd you settle in this dump?"
Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas): "There's more to the 188 than meets the eye. Troops move back and forth on 93 all the time, and 95 is how NCR folks come and go from Vegas. No shortage of customers... so long as Legion raids south of here don't get worse, anyways."
(Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas)/Dialogue#1) - ↑ Courier: "Why's this place called the 188?"
Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas): "You do know these old roads were numbered, right? We're standing where the 95 and 93 meet. And 95 plus 93 equals... 188."
(Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas)/Dialogue#8) - ↑ Courier: "Primm's safe now. I took care of those prisoners."
Michelle (Fallout: New Vegas): "That's nice. I suspect we'll stick around here, though. Business has been good."
