Mannequins are world objects in Fallout 76.
Background
Used primarily by retail stores as in-store displays or window decoration before the Great War, the remnants of these accessories are still found commonly across Appalachia.
Gameplay
There are several types of mannequins, both burned and unburned variants. Some are dressed in pre-War clothing, and others are not. The wasteland contains mannequins that are both pristine and damaged, the latter either missing pieces or displaying burn marks. When clothed, the first variant wears a pink laundered dress and the second is dressed in a sweater vest and slacks.
Mannequins can be found poised in specific situations in several locations, and are a part of a random encounter. In this encounter, the player character will come across four mannequins with flower vases underneath them. One of five paper notes, randomly selected between All gone, Memorials, Not sorry, Remember them and Survive, will be in a nearby green chest.
Other mannequins are found posed throughout the wasteland in boats, laying in beds, and standing in pre-War houses and living spaces. At Fraternity Row's Pi House, a mannequin is found laying on the bottom bunk with a skeleton, and a nearby note shares information on the pre-War inhabitants' conflict centered around getting rid of it.[1] Along State Route 108, a camp comprised of only mannequins can be found and yet another hanging from a noose underneath the Grafton water tower, with a protest sign.[2] A school bus full of mannequins is situated across from Crevasse Dam.
There are four notes describing milestones in the relationship of Jeff and Cyndi, acted out with mannequins.[3] These locations include southwest of the Pioneer Scout Camp on a picnic table, near the Summersville Docks on a rowboat, northeast of Pioneer Scout Lookout, on a table in an outside living room on a cliff, and southwest of the Freak Show, on a barrel at a pumpkin patch. On the other side of New Gad from the docks location, a shack can be found consisting of several more mannequins.
Locations
- There are approximately 70 clean variants of both types throughout Appalachia, including those at Watoga Shopping Plaza, Big Bend Tunnel, and at the Top of the World.
- Burned variants are not as numerous, with approximately 40 of each type found in the region. Locations include Freddy Fear's House of Scares, Monongah Mine, and Valley Galleria.
