Drones are alien robots encountered on board the Mothership Zeta in the Fallout 3 add-on Mothership Zeta.

Background

Drones are used by Aliens for multiple tasks, including combat,[Pub 1] personal use[Pub 2] and weapons testing. At the Weapons Lab, two Drones are used to fire at Brahmin exiting out of a Teleportation matrix. The Drones are all manufactured at the Robot Assembly.[1]

Guardian Drone’s are used for combat by the Aliens. Stop these robots by firing at their hover platforms, using the Robotics Expert perk, or enslaving them with the Drone Control Device. Otherwise, destroy them quickly because their Drone Cannon is particularly devastating.Fallout 3 Official Game Guide/Bestiary
Stop these personal robots by shooting their hover platforms, halting their movements. This is particularly helpful because Support Drones have no ranged attacks and are relatively weak. Deactivate them if you have the Robotics Expert perk. Enslave one if you have the Drone Control Device.Fallout 3 Official Game Guide/Bestiary

Sally: "It's a pretty big place, and I've only seen some of it. They always catch me before I can see the whole thing. I've seen the Cryo Lab... that's where they freeze people and cut them up and stuff. And the Hangar... That has the aliens's flying ships and all the stuff they need to fly them. And the Robot Assembly is where they build the big metal robots they use. But the real important stuff is on the top of the ship. I've never been there."
