Drew Langlois is a developer who worked at Bethesda Softworks on Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 as a level designer.

As a level designer, Langlois worked on and scripted several traps in Fallout 4.[Dev 1] Langlois also created the character of Erickson for the Far Harbor add-on. They asked other developers for the names of their pets, to include as randomized names for the dogs sold by Erickson. They expected to only receive about a dozen names, but ended up with over 100.[Dev 2]

Developer Statements
  1. Drew Langlois on Twitter: "Those are incredibly helpful tools to have in your toolbox as a game dev. For a basic example, I used that extensively when working on traps for Skyrim and Fallout. Write the general interaction logic in a parent script, inherit and define functions locally for how it behaves"
  2. Drew Langlois on Twitter: "In one of the Fallout 4 DLCs I added a vendor who would sell dogs for your settlements. I asked the team for names of their pets they'd like, expecting a dozen or so. There was more than 100, if I recall correctly."
