People's Liberation Army

(Redirected from Chinese Army)

200 years ago, I launched all of Yangtze's high-yield nuclear missiles. As ordered. For 200 years, I have lived with that guilt. That shame. So much fire. Such bei.Captain Zao of the Yangtze, Fallout 4

The People's Liberation Army or The Reds was the military of China, involved in several conflicts during the Resource Wars.[1]

Background

Led by Chairman Cheng and President Xin, the People's Liberation Army was responsible for fighting the United States armed forces during the Resource Wars. The army engaged in the initial invasion and occupation of Alaska in 2066 and subsequent conflicts in mainland China.

Chinese Stealth Armor was used by both the Crimson Dragoon troops and Black Ghost counterinsurgency squads during the Resource Wars.[2]Chinese soldiers wore Chinese Jumpsuits, carried assault rifles, and grenade rifles.[3] Infiltration submarines such as the SSN-37-1A patrolled coastal waters, the status of which was monitored by satellite.[4] In addition, American intelligence considered rumors of a "Ghost Fleet" of stealth submarines from the Shaanxi Province.[5]

Safehouses and field operations were established at various locations, including a listening post in the Taft Tunnel, a bunker at Broadcast Tower KT8 and an abandoned safehouse in the Pitt's Abandoned Apartments. In Point Lookout, operatives utilized an intelligence bunker and spies were also active near Bar Harbor, Maine and in Appalachia's Mama Dolce's processing factory.[6] Protectrons were utilized as clearance points for undercover agents.[7] The fighting forces also deployed pulse field technology, which was effective against American Power Armor.[8] On October 23, 2077, the Yangtze submarine in the Boston Harbor, commanded by Captain Zao, followed orders to fire their full payload of nuclear weapons at the city.

Post-War

After the Great War, remnants of the army maintained the Fujiniya Intelligence Base in Appalachia. The facility was originally tasked with identifying and destroying factory cities and intelligence gathering on the Appalachian Automated Launch System. Another detachment of infiltrators also continued operating underground near the Whitespring Resort. Their mission was the acquisition and operation of a Motherlode drill.[9][10]

Liberator robots are still functional in Appalachia, spreading propaganda and scouting for communist infiltrators. The Shih-huang-ti submarine washed ashore on America's West Coast, the survivors of which built a society around the salvaged remains of the vessel, referring to themselves as the Shi and calling its central computer "the Emperor."[11]

The Chosen One: "How about the long version?"
Fung: "The long version is this: We are here because our people are the descendants of the crew of a nuclear submarine, called the Shih-huang-ti. When the missiles fell in the Great Deluge, the systems aboard the submarine failed and we drifted in the dark for many days. At last, we drifted ashore. We found ourselves near the ruins of San Francisco. Most of the city was devastated in the war. We had to recreate society based on the few survivors who had crept back to the city."

He doesn't remember much of the first years after D.C. was destroyed, but he does remember his human life and resents his Ghoulish nature (though he does appreciate the gift of longevity). He was extremely intelligent and jovial in his old life, but living as a Ghoul has made him very pessimistic and angry at the world. He sees his Ghoulness as a karmic curse, because he was attempting to keep America at the forefront of human mutation experiments, breeding super-warriors after being inspired by the work of the German, Russian, and Chinese doctors."
