Captain Cosmos was the protagonist of the pre-War comic book, radio and television series The Adventures of Captain Cosmos.
Background
First in command of his fleet, Captain Cosmos traveled through space with his sidekick, Jangles the Moon Monkey, with weapons specialist Stella Skyfire serving as his second in command. He was outfitted with a variety of gear including a raygun, rocket pack, and space suit.[1] In a pre-War radio advertisement, he promotes a secret encoded message hidden in The Legendary Run board game, as well as Sugar Bombs breakfast cereal.[2]
Notes
- During Thanksgiving 2071, he appeared with the Silver Shroud in a crossover episode entitled, "The Silver Shroud vs. Captain Cosmos."[3]
- Captain Cosmos was the best selling Halloween costume prior to the Great War.[4]
- The character is mentioned in the Fallout: New Vegas Official Game Guide.[5]
- According to Fallout Shelter Online, merchandise of Jangles the Moon Monkey outsold merchandise of Captain Cosmos himself.[6]
- Sally tells the Lone Wanderer that climbing out of the waste disposal shaft is impossible "unless you're Captain Cosmos and have a rocket pack we can use."[7]
Appearances
Captain Cosmos appears in Fallout Shelter Online, and is mentioned in Fallout 3, its add-on Mothership Zeta, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.

A myth used to scare children who misbehave, the Pint-Sized Slasher is said to appear from a dog kennel at dusk to chase the children around with a Toy Knife. The Pint-Sized Slasher has been the second-best-selling Halloween costume, topped only by Captain Cosmos."
