The Brain Tank hosts the brain of the Courier in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Background
The Courier's brain was removed by Big MT's Sink Auto-Doc[1] and replaced them with Tesla coils[2][3]. Soon after, it was flushed to Dr. Mobius's stronghold[4], the Forbidden Zone, where he kept it to prevent The Think Tank to learn what The Courier's brain knew about the successful brain extraction experiment[5]. The brain, placed in a tank specified for brains, enjoys the peace and quiet of its new home, chatting with Doctor Mobius over Mentats[6] along with the relative safety and cleanliness[7].

Notes
- The Brain Tank's voice always sounds male, even if the Courier is female.
- The Courier can try to flirt with the Brain Tank.[8] To do so, a female Courier requires either the Black Widow or Cherchez La Femme perk, while a male Courier requires either the Confirmed Bachelor or Lady Killer perk.
- Once the Brain Tank has been "flushed" to the Sink or taken into the Courier's inventory, the empty tank shuts down.
- The Brain Tank may reference Jason Bright, HELIOS One, and Julie Farkas in dialogue.

Behind the scenes
Sunil Malhotra, the Brain Tank's voice actor, stated that his performance was an homage to Stewie Griffin from Family Guy, and that "Stewie basically lives in MY brain, so naturally..."[Dev 1]
Bugs
After progressing through the dialogue with the Brain Tank, the option to say "So, what, you'd rather just stay here? Never leaving that tank of... whatever that stuff is?" appears. If chosen, the player character may get stuck in a never-ending speech loop, specifically when the Brain Tank begins reminiscing about Jason Bright's departure and the activation of HELIOS One.
- This can be fixed by not completing Come Fly With Me prior to speaking with the Brain Tank, by using the console command cam (on PC) or by reloading from a previous save (on consoles.)
This is fixed in version 1 of YUP.
