Behaviour Interactive

Behaviour Interactive is a game development studio responsible for co-developing Fallout Shelter for iOS and Android devices. It also provided development assistance on Fallout 4.

Background

Behaviour Interactive was originally founded in 1992 in Montreal, Québec, Canada. The current studio is the result of the 1997 merger of the game development studio Megatoon (founded in 1992) and Multimedia Interactive (founded in 1994). Both companies were previously acquired by Malofilm Communications in 1996 before they were turned into a single brand. One of the key founders is Rémi Racine (currently CEO of the company), who originally founded Multimedia Interactive and was appointed General Manager when both companies were acquired.

In 2015, Behaviour Interactive collaborated with Bethesda Softworks on two Fallout titles. They co-developed the mobile game Fallout Shelter and provided additional programming, design and production assistance on Fallout 4.

Behaviour Interactive and Warner Bros. were sued by Bethesda Softworks in June 2018, citing copyright infringement, breach of contract and unfair competition in relation to the mobile game Westworld. Bethesda alleged that Behaviour copied its code for Fallout Shelter down to the bugs present in the game. The lawsuit was settled in January 2019.

Divisions

The company has five different internal divisions: gamer, portable, online, downloadable and family.[1]
