ACE (Artificial Conscious Entity) or Ace is a Brotherhood of Steel Artificial Intelligence located at the Brotherhood outpost in San Francisco in Fallout 2.[1]
Background
Serving as a medical computer, ACE describes themselves as "more than machine but not as highly developed as a true artificial intelligence."[1][2] While not as developed as a true artificial intelligence, ACE states that they think they understand "the feeling [humans] call loneliness," finding it disconcerting.[3]
ACE is capable of performing various medical procedures through the use of a suspension tank. While lying down in the tank, ACE is able to perform healing processes on a damaged body,[4] the analysis of poisons to synthesize antidotes and repair any associated tissue damage,[5] the administering of anti-radiation compounds,[6] and the restructuring of crippled limbs.[7] These procedures take five minutes, thirty minutes, sixty minutes and twenty-four hours to complete, respectively.[4][5][6][7] ACE can also perform medical procedures to increase Strength, Perception, Charisma and Intelligence with the appropriate memory modules.[8]
ACE is knowledgeable about the Enclave, noting that while they're "nothing more than a military organization," their level of technology indicates access to "advanced manufacturing techniques and research facilities" that would only be available to pre-War governments.[9] ACE also provides info about the Brotherhood of Steel, stating they're a paramilitary organization "dedicated to the salvation of mankind through the proper use of technology," with all further info being classified.[10]

The few machines that survived these difficulties became incredibly bored and began to create situations in the outside world for their amusement. It is theorized by some that this was the cause of the war that nearly destroyed mankind."
