.44 Magnum (Fallout)

FO76 publicteam xpd.pngFor an overview of the topic, see .44 Magnum.

A brick of ammunition, .44 Magnum caliber, full metal jacket.Fallout in-game description

.44 Magnum is a type of ammunition in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Gameplay

The .44 Magnum ammunition type is a powerful, large-bore cartridge originally designed for revolvers. These rounds are more valuable and deal more damage than the commonly available 10mm. FMJ rounds of this caliber are effective against armor while suffering no damage penalty. Hollow points are effective against lightly-armored targets.

Variants

There are two variants of .44 Magnum ammunition:

  • .44 Magnum FMJ (A brick of ammunition, .44 Magnum caliber, full metal jacket.)
  • .44 Magnum JHP (A brick of ammunition, .44 Magnum caliber, hollow-point.)

Bugs

In Fallout, ammunition modifiers are not applied properly, which makes the .44 equal to any other kind of ammunition and both JHP and FMJ versions are identical due to an executable bug.[verified]
